Valentine's Day Gift Idea

What are you giving your sweetheart for Valentine's day? Chocolate? Diamonds? Both? What about a blessing? My Pastor and Father (Rick Dees) preached a sermon on blessing your family during Christmas, and I would like to share with you his outline for blessing those you love this Valentine's Day.

Reasons to give Blessing as a Gift
1. It is what those you love desire most - We crave blessing, commendation, and assurance that we are loved by the one's we love.
2. It carves a path - Blessing give direction to the lives of others. Blessings set them on a course with confidence, knowing that no matter the outcome, your love will always be strong for them.
3. It displays God's own transforming work in you - Naturally, we are selfish. Supernaturally by God's grace we become givers rather than takers.

Steps in developing a blessing

1. Think about the persons qualities
2. Think about God's will
3. Think about your hopes for them
4. Point them to Jesus

I hope you will consider giving blessing as a gift today, it will last much longer than chocolates, it will be far more cherished than diamonds, and it will strengthen your bond with your sweetheart.
